At the NDTV World Summit 2024, Kartikey Hariyani, founder of BillionE Mobility and CHARGE ZONE, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his support in advancing electric mobility in India. He credited the government’s policies for helping create BillionE and CHARGE ZONE, platforms leading the shift to electric vehicles (EVs).
Mr. Hariyani also expressed gratitude to his team, including Mustafa Wajid, Sanjeev Kulkarni, and Harshit Patel, and thanked their investment partners like Macquarie Group and British International Investment.
Mustafa Wajid, co-founder of BillionE, spoke about India’s new plan for a carbon credit market. He explained that companies that reduce carbon emissions can earn credits. These credits can be sold to industries that produce more carbon. Mr. Wajid mentioned Tesla as an example of a company that profits by selling carbon credits.
Mr. Wajid is hopeful that the carbon market will start by 2026. He believes that focusing on sustainability will help both businesses and the environment.
